Old Armenian
Etymology 1
Perhaps from Proto-Indo-European *gʰom-, surviving also in Danish gamme (“sheepfold, shed”), dialectal Northern Sami gamme (“crib, manger”), Norwegian gamme (“turf hut”), Old Norse gammi (“hut of a Finn”), Swiss German Gämmeli. Or possibly a European substrate word.
According to Chukhua, derived from Georgian გომი (gomi).
