Etymology 1
From Proto-Indo-European *-(e)ro-. Compare երկ-ար (erk-ar) from Proto-Indo-European *dweh₂-ro- (“long”). See also -իր (-ir), -որ (-or), -ուր (-ur).

- զարդ ― zard ― ornament, embellishment
- զարդարեմ ― zardarem ― to adorn
- մեծ ― mec ― great
- մեծարեմ ― mecarem ― to honor, to venerate

- մութ ― mutʿ ― dark
