Etymology

According to Starostin et al., fromProto-Turkic *čeke (temple; cheekbone)[1].However, the Chuvash term appears to have been borrowed from Tatar, and then this archetype seems to be a rather late development. Note there are no attested forms in Old Turkic documents or Siberian Turkic languages.
