Etymology
From obsolete Russian пудо́вка (pudóvka) with a bit Bulgarianized stress, equivalent to пуд (pud) + -ов- (-ov-) + -ка (-ka) which also counts as a borrowing from Russian. Note that for some reason the current Russian term for a kettlebell ги́ря (gírja) is used in Bulgarian for a dumbbell.
