ди́хам (díham) impf (perfective ди́хна)

  1. (intransitive) to take a breath, to breathe (once)
  2. (transitive, figurative) to smell, to scent
    ни лук ял, ни лукдихал (idiom)
    ni luk jal, ni luk dihal
    to pretend that [one] has not done (something)
    (literally, “[one] neither has eaten onion, nor [one] has smelled onion”)
