摸 [mō] 动

1. ■ （触摸） feel; stroke; touch:

她把布摸了又摸， 看了又看， 说这布不错。 She felt and looked at the cloth again and again and praised it.

他轻轻地摸了摸我的前额。 He lightly touched my forehead.

这料子摸起来像丝绒。 This material feels like velvet.

2. ■ （用手探取;寻找） feel for; fumble; grope for:

在工具箱里摸着找几个螺丝钉 feel for a few screws in a tool box;

在口袋里摸钥匙 fumble in one's pocket for a key;

摸黑路 fumble along the dark path; grope one's way in the dark night

3. ■ （试着了解） try to get at; feel out; sound out:

先摸摸事情的原因 try to get at the reason;

摸不清他的态度 can not feel him out; can not sound him out;

摸不着门儿 can not find out the proper approach;

我们先把情况摸清楚， 再采取具体措施。 Let's feel out the situation first before we take any definite steps.
