摔(𨄮) [shuāi] 动

1. ■ （失去平衡而倒下） fall; tumble; lose one's balance:

他失去平衡， 从梯子上摔下来。 He lost his balance and fell from the ladder.

他在不平的地上绊了一跤，摔了个嘴啃地。 He stumbled on the uneven ground and fell flat on his face.

2. ■ （很快地往下落） hurtle down; plunge:

敌机摔下来了。 The enemy plane plunged to the ground.

3. ■ （使落下而破损） cause to fall and break; break:

摔成两半 break in two;

摔得粉碎 break into pieces;

他跌倒摔断了左腿。 He fell over and broke his left leg.
