From Proto-Slavic *vъ(n)-, from Proto-Indo-European *h₁én. The /n/ persists in вънити (vŭniti). See also Proto-Slavic *vъ(n).

- вън- (vŭn-) + -ити (-iti, “to go”) → вънити (vŭniti, “to go in, to enter”)
