From Proto-Turkic *biĺč- (“to be boiled, to ripen”)[1].

1. (of food) to be cooked, to be/get prepared for eating by heating
   1. to be/get boiled
   2. to be/get baked

      Көлдә бешкән икмәк.

      Köldä beşkän ikmäk.

      Bread baked in the ashes.

   3. (tea, similar beverages) to be/get brewed
2. (plants) to ripen
3. to burn oneself especially with hot water, other liquid or steam

Etymology 2

Proto-Turkic *biĺč- (“to churn”).[2].Cognate to Southern Altai быжар (bïžar, “to whisk”).
