ψεδνός
Ancient Greek
Etymology
Connection with ψῆν (psên, “gall insect”) is not evident. Beside this adjective, we find synonymous ψηνός (psēnós, “bald-headed”), ψανός (psanós, “bald-headed”) and ψιλός (psilós, “with thin hair”). The word is probably Pre-Greek, like many other words with initial ψ-.
