φορβή
Ancient Greek
Etymology
From φέρβω (phérbō, “to feed”) + -η (-ē, abstract noun suffix). The first element is of uncertain origin; Pokorny suggests Proto-Indo-European *gʰreh₁- (“to grow (of plants)”), Beekes calls it an agrarian loan from a substrate.
