σαβακός
Ancient Greek
Etymology
The formation can be compared with μαλακός (malakós, “soft, light; effeminate”) and τριβακός (tribakós, “rubbed, worn”), but the etymology is unknown. Furnée connects σαυκός (saukós, “dry”), which very strongly suggests Pre-Greek origin for this word.
