单词 μύσος
释义

μύσος

See also: Μυσός

Ancient Greek

Etymology

The word recalls μῖσος (mîsos, hatred) but remains without certain etymology. Pokorny compares Irish mosach (shaggy, bristly), Low German mussig (dirty) and Russian му́слить (múslitʹ, to suck, beslaver). The group has been compared with the root of μυδάω (mudáō, to be moist), but this remains hypothetical.
