Etymology
Either from stem κρυοπαγη- of Katharevousa verb κρυοπαγῶ (kryopagῶ) + -μα (-ma),[1] or[2] a free translation of English frostbite. For the combining forms, see κρύο n (krýo, “cold”) and πάγος m (págos, “frost, ice”).
