Etymology
Passive perfect participle of καλομαθαίνω (“to be spoiled”), an active-only verb. The stem μαθη- from the Ancient Greek μανθάνω (manthánō, “I learn”). From Byzantine Greek καλομαθαίνω: καλο- (“good, well”) + μαθαίνω (mathaíno, “to learn”).
