扭

扭 [niǔ] 动

1. ■ （掉转; 转动） turn round:

扭过头去 turn one's head away;

他扭过头来看了一下。 He looked over his shoulder.

她厌恶地扭过脸去。 She turned away in disgust.

2. ■ （拧; 旋转） twist; wrench:

把树枝扭断 twist a twig and break it;

用力把门扭开 wrench the door open;

向右扭把手， 箱子就能打开。 Twist the handle to the right and the box will open.

3. ■ （拧伤） sprain; wrench:

扭了筋 wrench a tendon; sprain a muscle;

扭了腰 sprain one's back

4. ■ （走路时身体摇动） roll; swing:

她走路一扭一扭的。 She walks with a rolling gait.

5. ■ （揪住） seize; grapple with:

两个摔交手扭在一起。 The two wrestlers grappled together.
