βλέννα
Ancient Greek
Alternative forms
- βλένα (bléna), πλέννα (plénna)
Etymology
Often connected with Sanskrit मृदु (mṛdu, “soft, gentle”) and Middle Irish blind (“slime from the mouth of a dead man”). However, according to Furnée, the variations would prove a Pre-Greek origin.
