戒除 [jiè chú]

1. ■ give up; drop; leave off; stop; withdrawal:

戒除恶习 give up a bad habit; relinquish a pernicious habit;

戒除某一习惯 break oneself of a habit;

戒除陈规 break away from the old conventions;

坏习惯不易戒除。 Bad habits are not easily given up.
