Etymology
From Proto-Iranian *āznābara (“bearer of nobility”). For the first component compare Manichaean Middle Persian 𐫀𐫉𐫗 (ʾzn /āzn/, “noble”). The second goes back to Proto-Indo-European *bʰer-.
