From Ottoman Turkish شخصا (şahsan), from Arabic شَخْصًا (šaḵṣan), adverbial accusative of شَخْص (šaḵṣ, “person, individual”). Formally, the Arabic accusative of şahıs. Compare Azerbaijani şəxsən.
