Etymology
[1835] From ó (“old, ancient”) + -don. The ending was taken from tulajdon, erroneously thought of as a suffix, perhaps applied with the purpose of comparison. Created during the Hungarian language reform which took place in the 18th–19th centuries.[1][2]
