Borrowed from Hindi ज़िंदाबाद (zindābād)/Urdu زندہ باد (Zinda Bād, “long live”), from Persian زنده باد (Zéndé Bād).

- (South Asia) A shout of encouragement; a cheer, which can also be interpreted to mean "may [idea or person] live forever", in praise of a leader.
