Etymology
From Ottoman Turkish آونمق (avunmaḳ, “to be occupied with something in the mind, and so insensible to what transpires”)[1], from Proto-Turkic *abïn- (“to enjoy oneself, to be happy, to comfort”)[2], possibly from Old Turkic *ab- (*ab-, “to crowd, to come together”)[3][4], morphologically avun- + -tu.
