Possibly from Gothic 𐌸𐍂𐌰𐌿𐌷𐍃 (þrauhs, “chest, feeding trough”), related to 𐌸𐍂𐌹𐍃𐌺𐌰𐌽 (þriskan), from Proto-Germanic *þreskaną (“to thresh”).
