嘘 [xū] 动

1. ■ （慢慢地吐气） breathe out slowly

2. ■ （叹气） utter a sigh:

他仰天而嘘。 He sighs with his face looking up.

3. ■ （火或蒸气的热力接触到物体） (of cooking fire, steam, etc.) come into contact with sth.; scald; burn:

把馒头在火上嘘一嘘。 Put the steamed bread over the fire for a while.

掀笼屉时小心热气嘘着手。 Don't scald your hands when you open the steamer.

4. ■ [方] （发出“嘘”声来制止、 驱逐） hiss; boo:

讲话人被嘘了下去。 The speaker was hissed down.

他们把他嘘下了台。 They hissed him off [from] the stage.
