Cognate with Cree ᑕᑳᐧᑭᐣ (takaaykin, “fall, it is fall”), Unami tahkoku (“it is fall”), Penobscot takʷάko (“it is fall, autumn”), Malecite-Passamaquoddy toqakiw (“it is fall, autumn”), Mohegan-Pequot taqôquw (“it is fall”), Ojibwe dagwaagin (“it is fall, autumn”), Menominee takuakōwew (“it is fall, autumn”), Fox takwâkiwi (“it is fall”), Montagnais takuatshin (“it is autumn”).
