superbolt (plural superbolts)
- (meteorology) A rare form of lightning where the bolt is much stronger (such as 100x) and lasts much longer (such as 5x) than the usual forms of lightning. Thought to be a form of positive lightning as most stronger lightning bolts are positive lightning, bolts from the cloud tops, which are also rare. (Regular lightning, negative lightning comes from the bottom layers of clouds).
