  1. Phrase sarcastically used to suggest that a person who does not like the actions or opinions of the speaker can respond by filing a lawsuit against the speaker.
    • 1969, Beard & Kennedy, Bored of the Rings, page 53:
      "So I've got it! So sue me!"
    • 1982, Judith Guest, Ordinary People, page 78:
      "God, you're preaching again. And your ceiling's dirty."
      "So, sue me."
    • 1997, Martin Wagner, Rachel's Machine, Page 295:
