Ancient Greek ἀσυνάρτητος (asunártētos, “disconnected, incoherent”) from α (a) συναρτάω (sunartáō, “join or knit together”) (from σύν (sún, “with”) + ἀρτάω (artáō, “fasten or hang onto”))
