Usage notes
- Spanish orthography requires a vowel be placed before or after an s, hence why some Spanish speakers insert vowels (more specifically e) into English words without vowels before or after the s. For example, they may pronounce stop as estop or scared as escared. This variation of the word however, unlike estanear, does not follow that rule as it is an unadopted Anglicism used by teenagers.
