不入虎穴, 焉得虎子 [bù rù hǔ xué yān dé hǔ zǐ]

1. ■ （不历艰险， 不能成功） Nothing venture, nothing have [get; gain; win].; Can you seize the tiger's whelps without going into the tiger's den?; He who would search for pearls must dive below.; How can one get the tiger's cubs except by going into the tiger's caves?; How can you catch [obtain] tiger cubs without entering the tiger's lair?; If you don't go into the den of a tiger， how can you get its young ones?; One cannot expect to achieve anything if one risks nothing.; Unless you enter the tiger's lair， you can't catch the tiger's cub.
