Cognate with Proto-Avaro-Andian *haNc’ːi (“saliva; eye secretion”) with borrowing in Inkhokwari Khvarshi гьаᵸцӏцӏи (hãc’c’i, “pus”), which most likely indicates nasalization in reconstruction.
