Proto-Tocharian
Etymology
Uncertain. Possibly a borrowing from a putative Proto-Iranian *anćuwan (for which compare Khwarezmian hnču and Ossetian ӕфсӕн (æfsæn)) or derived from a form of Proto-Indo-European *ǵʰew-, for which compare German gießen, which has heavy connotations to smelting.
