Has been compared to Lithuanian рíераlа, pùtpelė (“quail”), Latvian paipala (“quail”), Old Prussian penpalo (“quail”), Latin pāpiliō (“butterfly, moth”), Old English fīfealde (“butterfly”) and Old High German fîfaltra (“butterfly”).
