Proto-Permic
< 8 | 9 | 10 > |
---|---|---|
Cardinal : *ɔ̇kmu̇s | ||
Reconstruction notes
- In Late Proto-Permic, the initial vowel started to vary, with Udmurt showing a reflex of initial *u-, and dialectal Komi showing *o-. Nevertheless, based on *ɔ̇tik, an original initial *ɔ̇- can be reconstructed.
Etymology
From *ɔ̇k- (“one”) + *-mu̇s (“lacking from ten”). The first part is an unmetathesised continuation of Proto-Uralic *ükte.
Equivalent to Proto-Finnic *ükteksä (“nine”), itself also derived from *ükci (“one”).
Numeral
*ɔ̇kmu̇s
- nine

- Komi:
- Komi-Permyak: ӧ́кмыс (ö́kmys)
