Proto-Celtic
Etymology
From earlier *dangʷāss, from an extended Proto-Indo-European *dn̥ǵʰwéh₂-t-s, from *dn̥ǵʰwéh₂s. The change of d to t has not been satisfactorily explained; influence of Proto-Germanic *tungǭ is conceivable.
