Proto-Bahnaric
Etymology
From Proto-Mon-Khmer *[ ]ʔus ~ *[ ]ʔuus ~ *[ ]ʔuəs (“fire, firewood”), through some phonological progress. It's considered one of the terms that helps define a "Bahnaric" language, although some languages have the word for "fire" that seems to be regular reflex of the original MK root (Cua [ʔolh], Koho ous).
