From Latin racematio (a gleaning), from racemari (to glean), racemus (a cluster of grapes). See raceme.

racemation (usually uncountable, plural racemations)

  1. A cluster or bunch, as of grapes.
    • 1646/50, Sir Thomas Browne, Pseudodoxia Epidemica:
      Since also a Cock will in one day fertilitate the whole racemation or cluster of egges, which are not excluded in many weeks after.
  2. The cultivation or gathering of clusters of grapes.
