Etymology

From Ancient Greek οὐροβόρος (ourobóros, tail-devouring), a compound of οὐρά (ourá, tail) + -βόρος (-bóros, -devouring), which is derived from the verb βιβρώσκω (bibrṓskō, to eat up).
