Mullegen
Dutch
Etymology
First attested as mulling(h)en in 1333-1336. Compound of Old Dutch Mulo (“a personal name”) and heem (“home, settlement”). An alternative proposed derivation from a compound formed of mul (“dust, dry loose earth”) and eng (“agricultural land belonging to a village”) is incorrect.
