Usage notes
- Use is commonly interpreted as a sign that the speaker supports or is sympathetic to such people.
- Use is highly controversial; a professor at Old Dominion University in the United States "who advocated for the destigmatisation of paedophiles as 'minor-attracted persons'" was placed on administrative leave[1] and resigned.[2]
