Etymology
From Ottoman Turkish موضوعات, plural of موضوع, from Arabic مَوْضُوع (mawḍūʿ, “topic, subject”). The standard Arabic plural is مَوَاضِيع (mawāḍīʿ) and the sound plural may be a Persian or Ottoman formation.
