Cognates include Lithuanian mãkas, Old Prussian dantimax (“gums”) (dantis (“tooth”)), Old Church Slavonic мошьна (mošĭna), Russian мошна́ (mošná, “small bag or pouch”), Old High German maga, German Magen (“stomach”).[1]
