Etymology
From Proto-Albanian *lengā, possibly from Proto-Indo-European *h₁lengʷʰ- (“light, not heavy”). For sense development, compare Old Irish laigiu (“smaller”), Welsh llai (“smaller”), Ancient Greek ἐλαχύς (elakhús, “small, little”), all from the same root.
