- (geography) The western parts of Finland; not a well defined area, but roughly equals the area that lies west of the line that connects Kokkola and Hanko, overlaps with Etelä-Suomi (“Southern Finland”) in the south.
- (linguistics, culture) Those parts of Southern Finland in which the so called western dialects are spoken (see map).
- (government) A former (1997-2012) province (lääni) of Finland.
