Portuguese

Etymology

Borrowed from Old Spanish leviano (cf. modern Spanish liviano), from Vulgar Latin *levianus. Old Portuguese had the inherited form livão, showing a native treatment of intervocalic Latin /n/. Compare Galician leviao.
