Ancient Greek Ἰαπετός (Iapetós).

• (moon): Named after the titan.
• (ocean): The Iapetus Ocean was the predecessor to the Atlantic Ocean, so this name was chosen because Iapetus is the father of Atlas (see Atlantic).
