Etymology
Borrowed from another Muong lect where the reflex of Proto-Vietic *r- in initial position is /hr/ [r̥] or /h/ [h] (for example, the Nà Bái lect in Cao Phong district). The Mường Bi lect is spoken in Tân Lạc district, lying to the immediate west of Cao Phong district. The regular inherited reflex of Proto-Vietic *r- in Mường Bi is /r/.
In Kim Thượng lect in Tân Sơn district, Phú Thọ province, this word has the form roŋ³.
