Etymology

From a- + lexi + -thymia.

Created by psychiatrists John Case Nemiah and Peter Sifneos from Ancient Greek ἀ- (a-, not) + λέξις (léxis, speaking) + θυμός (thumós, heart), meaning “without words for emotions”.[1]
