- As for Tonal Class, Benson (1964) classifies this term into Class 2 with a disyllabic stem, together with kĩgunyũ, njagĩ, kiugũ, and so on.

- According to Yukawa (1981:86), this terms is heard as [ɣéáðè] in isolation.[2] As for Tonal Class, Yukawa (1981) classifies this term into a group including buubu, gĩthitũ, itũũra (pl. matũũra), kĩratũ, mũbira, mwera,nyanya (“tomato”), thani, thimbũ, and so on.[2]
